Stemed Brown Sugar Sponge Cake
Ingrediets:
- Eggs 4
- Dark brown sugar 100 g
- Milk 1/2 cup
- Vegetable oil 1/4 cup
- Flour 225 g
- Cornflour 25 g
- Baking powder 1 tbsp
- Water 6 cups
Method:
- Crush the dark brown sugar.
- Beat the eggs and dark brown sugar until thick.
- Gently fold in the milk.
- Mix in the vegetable oil.
- Sieve flour, cornflour and baking powder together.
- Gently fold in the egg and dark brown sugar mixture, mix well.
- Bring half a wok of water to boil.
- Place the steaming basket with 8 lined cups inside.
- Pour the batter into the cups.
- Steam over hight heat for 20 minutes. Serve
Tips:
Refill the wok with hot water while steaming as to keep the temperature hot enough to produce fluffy cakes.
